[Repost] In case you missed it, which you most likely did πŸ™ŠπŸ™ˆ I recently decided to change the name of this account and move my @samciurdar page to a different account. Before I explain my reason for this change, make sure to follow @samciurdar to stay in touch and actually see my posts!

I have Instagram to thank for this decision. A handful of years ago I had the honor of being, what then was the super-coveted Suggested User. Some may not even know what that is because its not a feature anymore. In short, when a new person signs up for an Instagram, a list of people are suggested for you to follow. Meaning crazy growth in an insanely short amount of time. Fast forward a few years and multiple algorithm changes later, those Suggested are the ones affected the most (from what I’ve seen). As a result, this account currently gets less than 1% engagement, meaning no one sees my posts. My new account has grown organically (not Suggested) and gets far better reach because it doesn’t seem to be capped by the same algorithms that my old account is. Making the decision to move my account means more of my work actually gets seen and likely means more work for me and more providing for my family.

I've tested this theory for a couple of weeks and from some articles I've read can't help but believe the rumors. Instagram only shows your posts to a small percentage of your following, and if you get a certain amount likes and comments within a certain amount of time, it unlocks to more of your followers. This means its probably rare you see my posts unless you’re one of the ones that engages most often. Even my wife (@amandaciurdar) has been affected.

Essentially, this switch is being done in hopes that my work will actually be seen by those who decide to follow me and more importantly, continuing to connect me with amazing brands that allow me to work and put food on our table and keep my wife at home with our children. I'd be so grateful for your continued support and to continue following along at @samciurdar. I'll still post here on occasion, but my focus will be on the switch. Please tag someone who might want to read this! Love you guys, and see you on @samciurdarπŸ™

You were never too old to set another goal or to dream a new dream.
Find a person in your life who equally doesn't care for Valentine's Day, and someone who you want to show them how much they mean to you every single day instead of once a year. Blessed to have that with my bride! // #valentinesday #valentinesday2019

Hey guys, I have a new account that I'd love for you to follow! πŸ‘‰πŸ»@samuelciurdar πŸ‘ˆπŸ»

Reason behind the new account: years ago, I've been super blessed and honored to have been a suggested user by instagram, something they haven't don't in a long while. However, these new algorithms they keep creating has effected these suggested accounts the most. Meaning, really bad engagement, reach, and zero growth. Is what it is I suppose. However, my new account has been completely organic growth, so even though I have less followers, my engagement is insanely better. I did this as a test for a while to see if the algorithm really effected this account. Sadly, it does. That being said, I'm going to give my other account a lot more attention and would love for you to be a part of that ride! I have always appreciated your support and am grateful you've decided to follow my journey in life. If you never see my posts, hopefully by following my new (@samuelciurdar) account, the algorithm won't effect you and you'll actually start to see my photos!

Thanks guys, and sorry for the long caption, love you all! πŸ™πŸ»πŸ™ŒπŸ»
I'd rather stand with God and be condemned by the world, than to stand with the world and be condemned by God.
I love rainy days, anyone else with me on this?! I might be alone because of e love in California and hardly get it, but the past couple of weeks we've had quite a bit - and it's been amazing!

Ps - this photo wasn't taken in California haha
There is only one way to success, here's my big secret. It's call hard work. πŸ‘ŠπŸ»
We keep moving forward, opening new doors, and doing new things, because we're curious and curiosity keeps leading us down new paths.
It's never too late to turn things around. You'll face many challenges, but you are your only obstacle.
You must tell yourself, 'no matter how hard it is, or how hard it gets, I'm going to make it'.
If your path is more difficult, it is because you have a higher calling.

Missing my bud like crazy. I've dealt with heart aches and breaks - this has been more heart shattering. Going to take a while to pick up all the pieces. Lucy knows Charlie won't be coming home because he is in Heaven with Jesus. She gave him the sweetest kiss on his head and said "goodbye Charlie". This is my favorite image of my boy, wish I could have taken him on one last adventure. Rest in peace, you were so incredibly loved. "For what happens to the children of man and what happens to the beasts is the same; as one dies, so dies the other. They all have the same breath, and man has no advantage over the beasts, for all is vanity. All go to one place." Ecclesiastes 3:19-21 // #charlieciurdar
Today sucked. Had to say goodbye to one of my best friends. Our dog Charlie. Such a hard and crappy day. Adventure on bud, run and explore free - I belive we'll see each other again one day! If you have a dog, love them hard tonight. // #charlieciurdar
Spontaneous portrait shot I took of one of my best friends after a quick shoot today. This guy is an amazing editor, the mastermind behind all my commercials, short films, music videos, etc. We've been friends for over 10 years, crazy how time flies! Also, how come portraits always do poorly on Instagram? Told myself I'd try to do more, and going to try and stick to that! To those who double tap, I appreciate the support haha!
